WTF, Word?

I rewrote Heavy Persuasion (Elladan/Legolas) and alluded to a relationship between Glorfindel and Elrohir and their problems in it. I'm working on their story now, and I've gotten to a love scene. So far, so good.

It was a gauntlet thrown down, one that he could pick up or ignore again. Glorfindel stepped close and raised a trembling hand to cup the younger twin’s cheek, brushing a thumb over the warm skin. He’d wanted Elrohir for so long. There was no going back, and Glorfindel didn’t want to. He couldn’t.

EXCEPT, Word is suggesting CUT instead of CUP. And I am just so thrown out of the scene. I mean, I know it's slash, but seriously, wtf, Word? Shakes head and laughs some more.

Definitely ignoring this one! I wondered why 'cup' was underlined, and when I checked I laughed so hard.

Word has made some terrible suggestions to me over the years and like you I get thrown right out --- you laugh when you just are not meant to laugh and there's no going back!

I've had Word suggest using a singular verb when it's meant to be plural, and vice versa, but this was a first. lol For now I'm working on another scene until I can stop giggling.

Word has issues, sometimes. So does LibreOffice. Bloodthirst, hoorah! (?)
