Thanks for the warning, I've forwarded it on to some friends. I have a Kobo because I stopped trusting Amazon long ago. I've heard from some users that books have disapeared and worse, have been replaced by edited versions! I also source my books independently, and in any case 99.9% of my reading for the past 4 years has been fanfic!

I don't know what the process is to download Kindle books, but I'm sure there is an app similar to Liberation for downloading audiobooks that makes it easy and does it in the backgournd (Here's a link in case you also want to download Audible) I did all of my Audiobooks the other day because I had a sense that stuff like this would happen. They say you own the book but they are such fickle liars!

I've downloaded the Kobo app onto my tablet so I'll see how that works. It wouldn't have hurt Amazon to put out some kind of warning, though. sigh
